This week marks the beginning of Christian Aid week. Throughout the world Christian Aid are continuing to respond to the needs of many in places such as Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. As with everyone else they are adapting their fundraising efforts by having on-line events including a daily quiz and live streaming worship events.
Christian Aid will also be offering an ‘e-envelope’, to help people share the Christian Aid Week story with family and friends, and ask for a donation. Fuller details are available on their website.
We continue to mark the milestones in the lives of our church family members and wish to say many happy returns to Marie Nicolson who celebrated her birthday on Tuesday, 5th May; and to May Anderson who celebrates her 79th birthday today, Sunday, 10th May. Many congratulations to each of you!
We continue to pray daily for our church family, their families and those in the community for continued health and strength to deal with the challenges of life in lockdown.
If you are feeling low or struggling in any way please do not hesitate to contact either Douglas, Kirsteen or Naomi simply to talk or for prayer. All calls/texts/emails will be treated in complete confidence. Please do not struggle alone.

NEWSLETTER
Dear friends,
This coming week is an important one in the life of our church as the Kirk Session will be meeting together via Zoom on Tuesday, 1st September to make final arrangements and settle on a date for reopening the church for worship on a Sunday. It is hoped that the date will be Sunday, 20th September, however that has still to be confirmed.
It has been a mammoth task to work through all the guidelines from both the Scottish Government and the Church of Scotland and so we thank you for your patience in these frustrating times and ask that you continue to pray for the Ministry Team and the Kirk Session, that they will be wise in the decision making.
Next week we will be able to give exact details about numbers allowed and how to participate. Members and friends who have been attending Church in the last year will be personally notified of all the arrangements.
We know from other congregations there has been very mixed feedback concerning a desire to return to church in these restrained circumstances and participation in worship that has no singing, no close contact and no fellowship over a coffee at the end of the service.
It would be very helpful if you were able to drop a quick email or call any of the Ministry Team (details below) or any members of the Kirk Session whose details you already have, by Tuesday evening, to give an indication of whether you anticipate wanting to join back together in Church at the moment under the new restrictions.
We must emphasise there is absolutely no pressure to attend, many circumstances must be prayerfully taken into consideration and of course our main prayer is that this virus will cease being a threat in our communities and our country and that we can come together in confidence and without fear.
A date for your diary is Monday 7th September when there will be the monthly Healing Service via Zoom. Everyone is most welcome and encouraged to attend a time of fellowship, teaching and prayer whether or not you have a healing need and whether of not you have every attended a Healing Service in the past. Further details of how to join in will be available in next week’s online newsletter.
As always, if you do have any specific prayer needs yourself, or concerns generally, please do not hesitate to use the contact details below and one of the team will be able to talk and pray with you in the strictest confidence.
