Online Worship Services

Welcome to our Online Worship Services. Due to the Covid-19 outbreak leading to us to be unable to gather in person for church as we usually would we have dedicated this space to bring the weekly service into your homes.

Please come here each Sunday to see the next service as it is uploaded, and services will remain available following this time so feel free to 'catch up' or re-watch a service through the week as desired.

                                    NEWSLETTER

Dear friends,

We are definitely getting closer to the day when we can be together again, in each other’s presence, worshipping God!

In light of the recent announcements from the Scottish Government, the Kirk Session (who are meeting together via zoom this coming Tuesday, 14th July) will endeavour to find a suitable date for this to happen.

There are many recommendations and guidelines from the Government and from the Church of Scotland which must be adhered to and there is no doubt things will have a different feel to them for some time.  You will be aware from the press coverage that singing is prohibited but please rest assured we can still have a joyful time of thanksgiving and praise!

Please continue to pray for the Session as they wade their way through the finer print of all the rules and that they would make sound and wise decisions on our behalf.

Although the Government has stated that communal worhip services can begin again from as early as this coming Wednesday, 15th July, realistically, because of the many precautionary measures which need to be put in place, which also involves completing a checklist and a risk assessment which require to be submitted to and accepted by Presbytery, we will not be able to resume holding Sunday Services at Priesthill Road for a few weeks yet.

Here is a direct quote from the Scottish Government website:

“Places of worship can re-open from Wednesday for communal prayer, congregational service and contemplation with limited attendance numbers and physical distancing. Specific guidance is being finalised with faith communities.”

As soon as the date of the first service is known everyone will be made aware.

In the meantime, if you or friends and family have been missing Messy Church, due to Covid-19 we are running a Home Holiday Club this summer.

Join us from your homes this week as we explore what it is to have HOPE together, with home activity cards and a short daily Zoom call for some group activities and games.

Please follow the ticket link on the 50p Church Facebook Page to sign up for the holiday club before its commencement.  Please message Naomi if there are any problems.

We started our You Tube channel last Sunday, and we now post Kirsteen Marshall's talk "Programme Sermon" on You Tube today. Here is the link:

Douglas Nicol recommends a book which relates to Kirsteen's talk. It is entitled "Changing On The Inside" by John White. If you are interested in finding out more about it, here is the link:

Whilst lockdown measures continue to ease in Scotland, this Sunday (12th July), Christians across the country will continue to join together in prayer at 7pm in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many Scottish Christians have been continuing to answer the call to pray at the same time each week and if you wish to join them a copy of a set prayer is available on the Church of Scotland website.

Members of the Kirk Session are reminded that we meet as a Kirk Session this Tuesday, 14th July, at 7.30pm, on Zoom, and the agenda will include receiving and approving the Church Accounts for the year ended 31.12.2019 and agreeing the General Fund Budget for 2020.

Please do get in touch with Douglas, Naomi or Kirsteen to share anything new that is going on with you, or  as ever, please remember that the ministry team are available for a chat, always in the strictest confidence.   Simply being able to listen, comfort and pray with you, if desired, would be a privilege.

Again, we want to mark the times of celebration in the lives of our church family members.

Congratulations to Val McInnes who celebrated her 70th birthday on Monday, 6th July; and to Ray Jamieson who celebrated her birthday on Tuesday, 7th July.

Many Happy Returns to each of you!
