                                                                         NEWSLETTER

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

When all around us, things in the world may look hopeless, we rejoice that we have a Lord and Saviour who promises to never leave us or forsake us.  We rejoice that we still have the freedom to meet together and worship our Heavenly Father and we give thanks that these services can be shared with those unable to physically attend our Sanctuary in Priesthill Road.

As we look forward to the New Year we excitedly wait in anticipation of what the Lord will do.  We give thanks for the word He shared around this time last year – that as we enter the ‘Roaring 20’s” we should roar like a lion, sharing our faith and we eagerly look forward to His guiding us in this New Year, even with all its challenges.

We give thanks that, though we go through difficult times, grieving, sorrow, loneliness, concerns regarding finance or employment, we need never feel alone but instead can turn to Him in prayer for peace and comfort.

We pray that as we enter this new year, we will have time to seek His face, to repent of our sins, to hear him through our scripture readings or other teachings and soon we can all meet together to share what God is doing for us and through us. We look forward to revival!

SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP

Although we are now back in Tier 4 of lockdown, please note that it is our full intention to continue meeting together for worship in the Sanctuary at Priesthill Road every Sunday morning at 11am. The services will be made available via YouTube and the Church Website during the week. Notice of when the video is uploaded can be found on our Church Facebook page. Please subscribe to our YouTube channel and you will be alerted when the service is available to view.

FREE WILL OFFERING

The Freewill Offering Envelopes and Gift Aid Envelopes (formerly known as the Deed of Covenant Envelopes) for the new year are available on the table at the back of the sanctuary. If you would like to begin using FWO or Gift Aid envelopes for the first time, please speak to Jess Mitchell or Douglas MacLaren respectively.

Many thanks if you have already opted to give your tithes and offerings by Standing Order.  For those who would like to consider this method of giving, please contact Jess or Douglas.

THE REV COLIN BROWN

The Rev. Colin Brown, minister at Darnley United Free Church, is due to retire in early 2021 after 41 years’ ministry in Darnley. Over the next few weeks we will be inviting members of the congregation to make a donation towards a gift which we will present to him before he takes his leave of us.
