This week marks the beginning of Christian Aid week. Throughout the world Christian Aid are continuing to respond to the needs of many in places such as Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. As with everyone else they are adapting their fundraising efforts by having on-line events including a daily quiz and live streaming worship events.
Christian Aid will also be offering an ‘e-envelope’, to help people share the Christian Aid Week story with family and friends, and ask for a donation. Fuller details are available on their website.
We continue to mark the milestones in the lives of our church family members and wish to say many happy returns to Marie Nicolson who celebrated her birthday on Tuesday, 5th May; and to May Anderson who celebrates her 79th birthday today, Sunday, 10th May. Many congratulations to each of you!
We continue to pray daily for our church family, their families and those in the community for continued health and strength to deal with the challenges of life in lockdown.
If you are feeling low or struggling in any way please do not hesitate to contact either Douglas, Kirsteen or Naomi simply to talk or for prayer. All calls/texts/emails will be treated in complete confidence. Please do not struggle alone.

Sunday 28th February 2021
Welcome to this week's traditional Sunday Service, at St Christopher's Priesthill & Nitshill. This week's talk is a little different, with our Parish Assistant Kirsteen being joined by Pastor Steven Mcleish from Renew Church Scotland. Together they explore the question: Can anything good come from Priesthill? Our talk is inspired by our Youth Group, and their recent adventures in applying for their desired college and university courses.
Many thanks to Erin, Margaret and local singer/songwriter Robert Durham, for their contributions to the service.
We hope that God's word blesses you, and that you have a fantastic Sunday.

Week beginning: Sunday 28th February 2021
NEWSLETTER
Dear friends,
As we become increasingly aware of all of the signs of spring in our midst, and, as we look towards Easter, we are encouraged that the Scottish Government has agreed that communal worship can begin again at the beginning of April.
We look forward to that day very much but are aware there will still be many restrictions in place.
As soon as we have the specific date for resuming our services in the Sanctuary at Priesthill Road we will be informing our members personally and will have updates in this newsletter.
INTERIM MODERATOR
The Kirk Session met together via Zoom on Tuesday 23rd February. They were joined for a short time by Rev Calum Macdonald from Giffnock the Park Church who has agreed to take on the position of Interim Moderator in light of Douglas’s retiral on Saturday, 5th June 2021.
The Session was delighted to be introduced to Calum who will be chairing their meetings as well as guiding the congregation through the vacancy process.
The full details of who will be leading each service after 5th June have not been finalised but this news will be passed on as soon the information is known.
Please continue to pray for Douglas as he approaches this milestone in his life, pray for the Session, Kirsteen and Naomi as they continue to represent, support and minister to the congregation and pray for Calum that he will feel at home as he gets to know us all.
HEALING SERVICE
Our monthly healing service will take place on Monday, 1st March, at 7.45pm via Zoom. This month’s service is titled “Rise Up … March Forth!”
If you wish to attend, please contact Katherine Nicol at KMnicol19@gmail.com and she will send you a link.
Everyone is most welcome to attend whether you have joined us before or not, whether you have a healing need or not, please know we would love to see you for an informal time of worship and teaching.
YOUTH GROUP
Thank you to everyone who has been praying for our youth group. We are delighted to report that all who were applying to college or university this year, have been SUCCESSFUL in securing places on their chosen courses. We are so pleased for them all and ask you to continue remembering them in prayer as they embark on this exciting stage of their lives.
COMPETITION
A reminder that The Moderator is running a photography competition for all ages, 'Hidden in Plain Sight', until Wednesday, 17th March. You can see the entries so far on the Church of Scotland website along with how to enter.
ONLINE SERVICES
As you are aware we are back to providing online services and our thanks go to Douglas and Kirsteen who, until the end of lockdown, will be exploring ways to bring praise, scripture, teaching and prayer to you. We all desperately miss the act of corporate worship and for those of us at home it has been a delight to have the Sunday service available to view. Please do subscribe to the Youtube channel (no cost involved)... it will allow you to know when each new service is available.
PLEASE GET IN TOUCH
It is important for us to keep connected even if we can’t meet together physically. Please let us know if you want to share any good news.
As ever, do remember that if you have any concerns or are struggling in any way, the ministry team are always available to talk or pray over the phone with you. This is always in confidence. (contact details below)
