This week marks the beginning of Christian Aid week. Throughout the world Christian Aid are continuing to respond to the needs of many in places such as Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. As with everyone else they are adapting their fundraising efforts by having on-line events including a daily quiz and live streaming worship events.
Christian Aid will also be offering an ‘e-envelope’, to help people share the Christian Aid Week story with family and friends, and ask for a donation. Fuller details are available on their website.
We continue to mark the milestones in the lives of our church family members and wish to say many happy returns to Marie Nicolson who celebrated her birthday on Tuesday, 5th May; and to May Anderson who celebrates her 79th birthday today, Sunday, 10th May. Many congratulations to each of you!
We continue to pray daily for our church family, their families and those in the community for continued health and strength to deal with the challenges of life in lockdown.
If you are feeling low or struggling in any way please do not hesitate to contact either Douglas, Kirsteen or Naomi simply to talk or for prayer. All calls/texts/emails will be treated in complete confidence. Please do not struggle alone.

SUNDAY WORSHIP service
18th APril 2021
Today our Sunday Worship Service is led by Douglas Nicol,
our parish minister.
The theme:"Passing the Baton"
Today, as part of the service, there will be a Service of Confirmation in which Kirsteen Marshall, our parish assistant, through profession of faith, will be admitted as a communicant member of the Church of Scotland.

Week beginning: Sunday 18th April 2021
NEWSLETTER
Dear friends,
We have very much enjoyed seeing more members joining us for worship on Sunday mornings in the sanctuary at Priesthill Road and pray that, as the vaccination programme continues, the numbers of people affected by coronavirus will diminish and confidence in meeting together will grow.
We acknowledged at the monthly healing service on zoom that we miss the simple pleasure of sharing tea and coffee and chat at the end of the service but we continue to patiently wait for the day when these restrictions are lifted.
MEMBERSHIP
Today at the morning service, Kirsteen will make a profession of faith and be admitted into full membership of the Church of Scotland.
Once Douglas retires, it should be noted that only members of the Church will be allowed to sit on the Nominating Committee or vote if a new minister is called. We have members of the congregation who have been attending worship with us for a long time but not made this commitment. If this is something you are interested in, have been contemplating, or simply want to know more about, please speak with Douglas.
THE CHOSEN
Many of us would confess to having watched an awful lot of television in the past year and, if we were being really honest, some of it has been awful! Although the days are longer and we are perhaps spending more time outside and, as restrictions allow, meeting up with friends and family, there is one programme we would really recommend you switching on one evening.
The Chosen is based on the true stories of the gospels of Jesus Christ. Some locations and timelines have been combined or condensed. Backstories and some characters or dialogue have been added. However, all biblical and historical context and any artistic imagination are designed to support the truth and intention of the Scriptures. Viewers are encouraged to read the gospels to ensure you have a firm knowledge of what is Biblical truth and what is imagined by the scriptwriters.
This is the link for the Chosen website where you can view each episode.
