Dear friends,

We sincerely hope you have been able to enjoy the glorious sunny weather this past week.  As restrictions ease and the sun shines it is becoming easier to reunite with friends and family and, as more people receive their second vaccine, confidence will grow, allowing more people to join together at Priesthill Road with the church family.

We give thanks to God that our experience of vaccine rollout in this country has been more than satisfactory but we continue to pray for other nations where the numbers affected by the disease continue to rise and supplies of oxygen and medicines fall.

There are a number of rules that must be adhered to when a Church has no minister.  Once Douglas retires, it should be noted that only members of the Church will be allowed to sit on the Nominating Committee or vote if a new minister is called.  Our Interim Moderator, Rev Calum MacDonald will oversee all the procedures but, in the meantime, if there is any aspect of this process that you are unsure about, please do not hesitate to ask Douglas Nicol or Douglas MacLaren.

We have members of the congregation who have been attending worship with us for a long time but are not actually members.  You may have seen in last week’s service, our Parish Assistant, Kirsteen Marshall became a member.  If this is something you are interested in, or have been contemplating, please speak with Douglas.

Elders and Associates are reminded that there will be a meeting of the Kirk Session this coming Tuesday evening, 27th April, at 7.30pm on Zoom, in order to approve the 2020 Church Accounts and also to approve the 2021 Budget. Douglas Nicol will be in touch with the members of the Session by email to provide documents ahead of the meeting.

As ever, do remember that if you have any concerns or are struggling in any way, the ministry team are always available to talk or pray over the phone with you.  This is always in confidence.  (contact details below)

Although there is so much difficulty and anxiety at this time we take the time to mark the times of celebration in the lives of our church family members. Please do let us know if you have any good news to share.

Congratulations to Kim Black O’Donnell who celebrated her birthday on Thursday, 22nd April; and to Miriam Nicol who celebrated her 20th birthday on Friday, 23rd April. Many happy returns to each of you!
