                                                        NEWSLETTER

Dear friends,

Tomorrow sees the start of Christian Aid week.   This year’s project focuses on a project in Kenya where they are dealing with the difficulties brought about from global warming. The climate crisis affects us all but people living in poverty fight the worst of it every day.

From drought to flooding, climate change robs people of control over their lives. Extreme weather means people are struggling to survive without a reliable source of water.

Our gifts could help a community build an earth dam, so when the rains do come, they will have the water they need to live. A reliable source of water will help families withstand long drought or relentless rainstorms.

This year there are physical envelopes available in the Church for us to make a cash or cheque donation or, if you prefer, your gift can be given directly into the Church bank account with a clearly marked reference of “Christian Aid Donation.”

Please contact Jess Mitchell, our Treasurer, if you need the Church bank details.

MONTHLY HEALING SERVICE

Tomorrow marks the last monthly healing service under Douglas Nicol’s ministry.

This will be the 350th healing service and it will be conducted in the Sanctuary. The theme is “Rest”.

If you would like to physically attend the service, please let Douglas Nicol know as he will be monitoring the situation to ensure that we do not go over our capacity.

All are welcome to physically attend the service but if it is not suitable for you to be there in person there will also be a live link via Zoom.  Please contact Katherine Nicol at Kmnicol19@gmail.com and she will be delighted to send you the link.  If you would like instructions on how to participate in a zoom meeting, please contact her by 6pm on Monday (10th) and she will be able to give you assistance.  Please join us, one way or another, for this time of worship, teaching and praise.

SUNDAY MORNING SERVICES

At the moment, Douglas and Kirsteen continue to lead worship in the Sanctuary at Priesthill Road and have the service recorded for transmission on YouTube a few days later.  As has been the case for many years, should you have a favourite hymn or worship song that you would like to be included in the service, please speak to Douglas or Kirsteen.

The Kirk Session will be meeting later this month and will be making decisions as to whether continuing to record the services is viable.  If you have any interest in IT or would like to learn how to edit the footage and prepare it for the internet please speak to either Douglas Nicol or Kirsteen.

MINISTRY TEAM

As ever, do remember that if you have any concerns or are struggling in any way, the ministry team are always available to talk or pray over the phone with you.  This is always in confidence.  (contact details below)

CONGRATULATIONS AND CELEBRATIONS!!

Although there is so much difficulty and anxiety at this time we take the time to mark the times of celebration in the lives of our church family members. Please do let us know if you have any good news to share.

Congratulations to William Boyd who celebrated his birthday on Tuesday, 4th May; and to Marie Nicolson who celebrated her birthday on Wednesday, 5th May.

Many happy returns to you both!
