                                                          NEWSLETTER

Dear friends,

Our prayer is that you continue to keep safe and well and are free to enjoy a quiet winter evening now that, hopefully, the fireworks season has passed!

Whilst our friends and family in England have gone into full lockdown again this week and while we in Glasgow feel as if we are living under lockdown conditions, unable to visit or have visitors, we give thanks that we have homes to feel warm and safe in as we wait for the virus to be extinguished.

We continue to pray for the homeless and those in threat of losing their homes due to the pandemic and we remember all the charities and outreach workers who endeavour to make life more bearable for those in real need.

LODGING HOUSE MISSION APPEAL

The Lodging House Mission has launched its winter appeal where they seek to provide Winter Weather Packs for their service users.  A Winter Pack contains gloves, hat, scarf, face mask, and a phone number providing access to support and chaplaincy services. Each pack will be delivered to an individual who finds themselves isolated and affected by homelessness this festive season.

You can sponsor the cost of a Winter Weather Pack at £12 or simply make a donation on to their Christmas Appeal and help them to continue to care for and support those who are isolated and without a home over the festive period.  More details will be made available on their website or you can call on 0141 552 0285.

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY

We are able to report that, after some mixed messages regarding Remembrance Day observances, one of our Elders, Pamela Caskie, was in fact able to go this morning (Sunday 8th November 2020) before our Church service, and lay a wreath from the Church at the War Memorial on Nitshill Road.

ONLINE WORSHIP SERVICE

We thank Kirsteen and Naomi for taking last week’s Sunday Service when Douglas was on annual leave.  You will notice that we are still having some technical issues when putting a recording of the service online. The sound quality can be intermittent for instance, but we thank you for your continued patience.  The process of editing and then posting the footage on line can be time consuming but we would appeal to anyone who may have an interest in learning this process or indeed who has previous knowledge and is willing to donate some time to help, to get in touch with Douglas Nicol.

MINISTRY TEAM

The ministry team are available to talk and/or pray with anyone from the congregation or Parish who is struggling in any way.  Please know that all these requests are dealt with in the strictest confidence.  The team’s contact details can be found below.

CONGRATULATIONS AND CELEBRATIONS!!

Although there is so much difficulty and anxiety at this time we take the time to mark the times of celebration in the lives of our church family members.

Congratulations to Leeanne Griffin who celebrated her 29th birthday on Monday, 2nd November; to Alex Boyd who celebrated his birthday on Friday, 6th November; and to Michelle Griffin who celebrates her 36th birthday today, Sunday, 8th November.

Many Happy Returns to you all!
